Site Updates

We've added some stuff lately.

Check out the new Sunday Night Calendar at For Incoming Students

There is also an update in the What's going on section as well.

Finally, check out the Tell Us About You link and fill out the form. This will automatically add you to our database of student contacts. This info will get you on our e-mail list and mailing list. You'll stay informed on BCM happenings, and be on our list for birthday cards and exam care packages.

I hope you are excited about this next school year. August will be here before you know it!

God Bless!

Stepping Stones

by Tiffany James

When I came to BCM for the first time I was struggling. I was struggling with God, with what church really meant to me, with trusting and believing that there is a place where I can be with others who truly want to bring about the Kingdom of God on earth. I found BCM to be a place of healing- a place to let the heart that had been broken by the "church" be mended by people who really are the church. I found it a place of comfort and a place where I could question things all I wanted. Through this process I was able to let go of the bitterness that I had deep within me. BCM has made me realize many things. One thing that I realized was that living into the identity that God has created for me will be difficult. I will be hurt by people- I will be confused, I will doubt- but the thing that I have come to see is that I would rather be who I am ultimately meant to be rather than a facade. BCM has been a big stepping stone in my life. It has lead me to grow and yes, that growing did hurt sometimes, but I would never want it to be any other way.

The Greatest Pilgramage is Life

By Brandon Belcher

Life can be a journey, a pilgrimage if you will, from place to place, idea to idea, making one's way into a deeper understanding of "life to the fullest."  The Baptist Campus Ministry has been the greatest resource in my life in helping me along my path.  Before coming to UNCG I spent a great deal of time searching, thinking and wrestling with ideas about God.  No, none of this was a bad thing, but BCM has given me a community to enter into conversation with and has guided me to understand how life changing and world altering the simple words of a revolutionary Jewish rabbi could be.  My life will never be the same.

Being part of this community has helped me understand that taking Christ seriously really means signing up to take part in the transformation of the world into the dream God has for us through love and grace.  What an adventure!  BCM has been a great companion to have on my pilgrimage in helping me to enter into a deeper understanding of the world around me and my part in it.  I look forward to continuing the journey.
