Spring Break Mission Trip to Charleston, SC!!!!

Every Spring semester the BCM group takes a Spring Break Mission trip somewhere around the east coast to spend our week in service. This semester, we are excited to announce that we'll be heading down beautiful Charleston, SC!

We will be gone March 8-14, and while down there we'll work with a relief organization that helps families repair their homes if they cannot afford to do so. In addition to this, we'll also spend some time touring around beautiful Charleston, see the beautiful sites, historic landmarks, and  sunny beaches.

The cost for the whole week is $150 per person, and that includes meals. If you are unable to pay this whole amount, some local churches have volunteered to sponsor students, so don't let the cost prevent you from coming. Sign ups are going on now, so don't miss out! Winter Retreat: January 23-25

The weekend after we return from Christmas Break, BCM will be going on a Winter Retreat to Look Up Lodge in Traveler's Rest, SC!!! This will be a great time to catch up with friends and start the semester out on the right foot! We are doing this retreat in partnership with UNC-Chapel Hill's BCM so it will also be a great chance to make new friends.

We'll have a guest speaker, a guest worship team, so we hope this will not only be a time of great fellowship, but also spiritual growth. The cost is $35 for the weekend, so if you're interested send Sharon an e-mail (sehodde@uncg.edu).

Before you go home for Thanksgiving...

Before you go home for Thanksgiving Break, here are some fun events that BCM has going on...

Friday, November 21--Cheap Date Night. This event is hosted by First Baptist. It starts at 7pm in the Sharpe Room of the EUC. They will be showing Ironman, and snacks and drinks will be provided. Take a study break and come on out to hang out with friends and watch a great movie!!

Monday, November 24--FREE Soup Dinner. This event is hosted by the ACM, and it will be held on the 2nd floor of the ACM building (where BCM usually meets). It starts at 6pm, and the meal will feature LOTS of delicious soups, salad, drinks and of course dessert. We will also be showing "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" on the back wall to put you in the mood for this wonderful holiday.

Angel Tree Christmas Project

As the semester winds down for the Christmas Break, we're going to be collecting Christmas present for children of prison inmates through the Angel Tree ministry. We're really excited about it and we hope you will be too!

Each week at BCM, we'll have a Christmas tree with angel ornaments hanging from it, and on those ornaments you will find the names of children who need your help. Take an ornament home with you, and you will be responsible for purchasing two gifts--one piece of clothing and one fun present. Then on December 9th at BCM's annual Christmas dinner we'll be wrapping all the presents to deliver them that week.

We'll be delivering the presents throughout exam week, so you'll even get the opportunity to hand deliver your present to the child you shopped for!

BCM has adopted 20 kids for the project, so be sure to lend a helping hand. As we prepare to celebrate Christmas and the many blessings we've been given, don't forget to share your blessings with those who will be without!

Guys Night/Girls Night: THIS Friday!

On Friday, November 7th the guys and gals of BCM will be splitting up for a little of their own fun! Here's the scoop!

The girls will meet at the ACM at 6pm to go to dinner, a movie, then back to the ACM for an awesome sleepover (you know you've missed them!). We'll have facials, manicures, pedicures, and MORE! Bring your pj's and a friend--it's gonna be a blast!

The guys will meet at the ACM at 6:30pm and head out to do their own thing. Jason and Ike, the two manliest men we know, will be in charge of the whole night, so get ready for some awesome man-time
